Notification and registration of dietary supplements

In Finland, notification of dietary supplements before placing them on the market is mandatory. It is submitted to the Finnish Food Authority – Ruokavirasto. The notification process is unusual in that it ends with tacit acceptance – Ruokavirasto only responds in case of non-compliance; otherwise, the notification becomes valid after the deadline expires (approx. 14 days).

Notification fee: €169.90 from 1 January 2025

Required label language: Finnish and Swedish
